Lisa Liu

Lisa Liu is one of Hollywood's most versatile and prolific music professionals — a Juilliard-trained violinist, composer, conductor, orchestral contractor, and entrepreneur whose career defies easy categorization. Born in Pittsburgh and shaped by nine years at The Juilliard School under the legendary Dorothy DeLay, Lisa has spent two decades building an extraordinary presence at the intersection of classical training and popular culture.

As a performing violinist, Lisa has recorded on more than 300 film and television scores, appearing on some of the most beloved soundtracks of the past two decades — from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (John Williams) and La La Land to A Star Is Born, The Greatest Showman, and Gone Girl. She has played on recordings by Lady Gaga, Sade, Leonard Cohen, Pharrell Williams, Slash, Panic! At The Disco, Stevie Wonder & Ariana Grande, Céline Dion, and Kendrick Lamar, accumulating over 3,800 verified credits on Muso.ai.

As an orchestral contractor, Lisa is among the most trusted in the industry. She has led orchestras for sold-out shows at the Hollywood Bowl, Disney Hall, and Coachella; performed as part of the orchestra for Adele's Weekends with Adele residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace; and toured with ODESZA to Madison Square Garden and The Gorge. Her contracting credits span prestige television — including Presumed Innocent, Wednesday, Homecoming, Reacher, Death and Other Details, and Turning Point — as well as major streaming films and video games. She co-produced a benefit concert honoring cellist Lynn Harrell alongside John Williams and Anne-Sophie Mutter.

An entrepreneur at heart, Lisa co-founded the Unison Orchestra — an industry-first global collective that pioneered remote recording during the COVID-19 pandemic, earning attention in The Hollywood Reporter — and founded L.A. Orchband, a Hollywood-based orchestra committed to diverse, emerging talent. Her LA Conducting Co-op, featured in the Los Angeles Times, reimagines orchestral models for a new generation. Sister Cities Orchestras extends her vision globally, connecting musicians across New York, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Shanghai.

Lisa's story began with improvisation — her first such opportunity was a project for the Pope — and has never stopped evolving. Her first recording session was an original piece by Nico Muhly, made at Björk's house. Today, she remains driven by a singular purpose: to serve her musical community by creating opportunities for diverse, emerging talent.
